Walking through the streets of Mostar involves a complex dance with cars and pedestrians.
A car approaches and you move to the side, sometimes ducking between cars. No one honks. Well, rarely. A honk can mean hello to a friend, or please go ahead of me. The drivers do take corners sharply, and I have witnessed some incredible parking maneuvers that Neal Cassady would admire. Of course, the cars are all small here, VWs , and such. Even Yugos can be seen here. The old area near the bridge is pedestrian dominated by default. When cars approach or scooters, people move easily and readily without a fuss.
